:I'm requesting removal of my sysop rights on Slovenian Wikipedia (and also on Slovenian Wiktionary) since I won't edit it anymore. My understanding of what's right and what's to be avoided is just contrary to the opinion of other users:

* respect fair use (this image is not used anywhere and still they do not want to use it in the appropriate article or just delete it)
* avoid overlinking articles; they even accused me of vandalism because I removed links to unimportant dates and duplicate links

* remove the status of featured article from articles that are in poor shape. Like: :sl:Ptiči or sl:Koriander. I removed the star sign according to the discussion here
and then someone just reverted me using the 'revert' button. It's a common practice in Slovenian Wikipedia to revert other admins using the revert button and without any explanation
* BUT! When someone promotes another user to a sysop status without the consent of the community, thi is just fine (see ) and he gets away with this without any problem.

I'll probably edit WikiCommons (where I am sysop too) and English/French Wikipedia but not the Slovenian one anymore. --<font color="green">Eleassar</font> my talk 15:49, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

This page hosts requests for admin, bureaucrat, or CheckUser access to a Wikimedia wiki which does not have a local procedure. If your wiki has a bureaucrat, please use the requests for adminship page on that wiki instead. For urgent access (to combat ongoing large-scale vandalism), you may ask on the #wikimedia-stewards IRC channel instead. For bot requests, see Requests for bot status. For spam whitelist/blacklist requests, see Talk:Spam blacklist.

Stewards: all requests presented here should be archived when fulfilled.

Boilerplate Request for Permissions

The text below is a template for requesting specific permissions on a wiki. Please copy it and complete the three required points, plus other salient information.

Project name
I request sysop access on ps.wikipedia:

*Language Code: ps
*Local Request Link: ps:Project:wikipedia
*Local User Page: ps:User:waliachakzai

Thank you. ~~~~

Notes:

 1. Be sure to complete the information as requested. Without it, a steward cannot process the request.
 2. Please add the request here after the community approval.
 3. Be aware that local request page (RfA) may not be the same with the administrators page.

Current Requests

Please place your request at the end of the appropriate section below, and state in the heading which project you are referring to. All requests for permissions are subject to approval by the local community, and any unauthorised permissions will be revoked upon complaint.

Please remember to inform your community of your request. A steward will notify you when the request is processed.

Beware of sockpuppetters and imposters, always ask for a confirmation edit on the destination wiki.

Oversight rights for English Wikipedia

Note to Stewards: when someone asks for Oversight status, please check with the English Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee before giving this status. When you give someone Oversight, please list them on Hiding revisions. Thanks.

CheckUser rights

To ask for a steward to answer one of your request, see Request for CheckUser information.

Note to Stewards: when someone ask a CheckUser status, please check the current policy of attribution of status before giving this status. When you give someone CheckUser, please list them on CheckUser. Thanks.

According to policy, there is no TEMPORARY status of checkuser. Either there are already checkuser on a project and these people must be asked to do the checkuser. Or there is nobody and a steward must do it. Giving a temporary status to anyone just simply asking it to a steward, with no agreement from the local community is against the checkuser status rules. Giving it with no request mentioned anywhere is even more problematic. Breaching these rules should imply removing the status of the steward if he can not be trusted to follow commonly accepted rules. If any one has a problem with this rule and wish that from now on, checkuser status be given to anyone without any community discussion, he must have the current rules changed, not breach them. Thanks Anthere 03:24, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Note: When giving someone checkuser, please (a) ask them to subscribe to checkuser-l and (b) email [email protected] so that the listadmins know the person is allowed on the mailing list. (The list may contain confidential information.) - David Gerard 15:22, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Any request made in a different paragraph than this one should not be considered.

We are going to make major overhaul on the wikisource Indonesia to support contents which cannot be hosted on id.wikipedia. I am a sysop on id.wikipedia and need sysop access to perform some tasks. We don't have a bureaurocrat yet (request is being made, but I guess it takes more time for a bureaurocrat request).

Thank you. -- IvanLanin 17:01, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vietnamese Wikisource

I would like administrative privileges at the newly-created Vietnamese Wikisource (vi:). My username there is Mxn. I was granted admin status at the Multilingual Wikisource some time ago due to my knowledge of Vietnamese, and since the Vietnamese pages there are being moved to the Vietnamese Wikisource, I would like the ability to customize interface messages and delete pages as necessary. There aren't any admins or active contributors at the project yet, and there weren't any active contributors to Vietnamese-language pages at the Multilingual Wikisource, so there hasn't been a vote on my request yet. I'm also a admin at the Vietnamese Wikibooks and a bureaucrat at the Vietnamese Wikipedia and Wiktionary. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 22:24, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I request bureaucreat access on Indonesian Wikisource (id.wikisource). Currently I am the only sysop there and I want to start appoint some sysops to help develop the project.

How long does it take to get approved? Borgx 00:53, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
One sysop, yourself, and 73 registered users. There is a recommendation not to create bureaucrats on very small wikis. Maybe you could try to call for new candidatures for sysop before asking bureaucrat rights. villy 20:58, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is one sysop request since ages ago (see above). Is this really so difficult just for get the bureaucrat flag? And why for god sake bureaucrat are not allowed to be created on very small wiki? We need bureaucrat for assigning sysop. Getting sysop from meta requires a lot of time. Borgx 02:26, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's hardly 11 users on that project. Could you please tell us why is a bureaucrat needed? villy 08:20, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's true that we are not so much helping in the project (and most of the users do not speak basque), but I think that a bureaucrat is needed not to be requesting permissions here and because I know the work of each user better (in the basque wikiquote). Anyway, we are not in a hurry.—Barrie 18:39, 28 May 2006 (UTC) (Talk)[reply]

Removal of access

Self-de-adminship can be requested here, and will be granted immediately. You may be asked to prove you are the same user on meta as on your local wiki first, by putting information on your talk page on your local wiki, that you're requesting de-adminship.

To request the removal of sysop access from another user, please gain consensus on this on your own wiki first. All discussion must be kept on your local wiki. When it is finished and there is a community consensus to desysop a user, a trusted person from that wiki should just provide a link here to the discussion and a very brief explanation of what the results of that were.

Please do not open discussions here about rights.

sl wiki

I'm requesting removal of my sysop rights on Slovenian Wikipedia (and also on Slovenian Wiktionary) since I won't edit it anymore. My understanding of what's right and what's to be avoided is just contrary to the opinion of other users:
 • respect fair use (this image is not used anywhere and still they do not want to use it in the appropriate article or just delete it)
 • avoid overlinking articles; they even accused me of vandalism because I removed links to unimportant dates and duplicate links [7]

[8]

and then someone just reverted me using the 'revert' button. It's a common practice in Slovenian Wikipedia to revert other admins using the revert button and without any explanation

 • BUT! When someone promotes another user to a sysop status without the consent of the community, thi is just fine (see [9]) and he gets away with this without any problem.

I'll probably edit WikiCommons (where I am sysop too) and English/French Wikipedia but not the Slovenian one anymore. --Eleassar my talk 15:49, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm usually active on fy.wikipedia; this is just to be able to make and keep the WikiWurdboek tidy. Aliter 22:18, 18 May 2006 (UTC) And it does indeed need tidying up. hi aliter, please create a local request page and link it to here. thx, oscar 13:17, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Created a general discussion page, and wrote the request there. I originally thought this a bit overdone, but curious things happen there; a surprise would still be possible. If it doesn't come: As adminship is defined here as a, community-supported, right rather then a function, feel free to instead define a function custodian for me: a long-lasting temporary status ending upon request without need for discussion. User:Ragib @ bn.wikibooks

I am an admin in English wikipedia (en:User:Ragib) and Bangla wikipedia (bn:ব্যবহারকারী:Ragib). I would like to request sysop status for Bangla wikibooks. I have already started working on translation of mediawiki text for bn wiki, and interwiking articles between bn and en wiki. I'd like to start on doing the same for bn wiki book too. --Ragib 22:52, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ragib, as long as a community does not exist, we cannot grant a permanent sysop status to anyone. How about a temporary permission (one month?), in order to fix the MediaWiki intefrace? --Paginazero 09:35, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That is fine by me. Could I have something like 6 weeks or so? There hasn't been any localisation work in the bn wikibooks, I need to complete it. Thanks. --Ragib 21:02, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have localized about 30%-35% of the system messages so far. This is not a lot, I admit, but due to my time commitments in Bengali wikipedia and English wikipedia, I couldn't translate them all in wikibooks. So, could you please extend the temporary adminship in bn wikibooks for another two weeks? Thanks. --Ragib 21:29, 1 June 2006 (UTC) (from User talk:Paginazero)[reply]

Latin Wikibooks

I request sysop access on la.wikibooks:

I have not made many edits on the Wikibooks, however please look more at my edits on en:User:Dbmag9 and la:Usor:Dbmag9. To be honest the Latin Wikibooks is in a shambles, and I want to be able to fix it all up. This Administrator request is mainly because almost none of the MediaWiki messages are translated, and this needs urgent doing. Also, there are currently no users with any status on the project.

Thank you very much. -b:la:Usor:Dbmag9

Usually for localization work a temporary adminship is granted. How about two months for customizing the interface?
Should in the meantime a regular votation take place, the adminship can be made permanent. --Paginazero 08:25, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! That is exactly what I need. Should I list it seperately below, or leave the request here? -b:la:Usor:Dbmag9

No need for a new request. Done. Temporary sysophood until July 31st. Bye. --Paginazero 06:58, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Avar wikipedia

I request sysop rights on Avar wikipedia.

Comment: Avar is my mother tongue. I live in a Avar speaking community. I've graduated from the Daghestani State University, department of Avar philology (i. e. I know the actual Avar orthography etc.). I need the admin rights to start translating the interface and to be able to face vandalism. There is no voting page at av:, because the Avar wikipedia is currently inactive. It seems to be a good idea to appoint a temporary admin and reelect him (me?) in a year or so. - monarch79 23:40, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. As we did in similar cases in lack of a community, but in need to customize the interface, I suggest to give you admin rights until June 30th. Is this ok for you? --Paginazero 13:21, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing the recent heavy vandalizing at av: I'd propose to give Monarch79 admin rights untill the New Year or at least untill autumn. Why: he is the only person writing Avar at av:, he is Avar phylologist, he is adequate and appears online often (every night, I presume). - Slavik IVANOV, os:'s admin.
I strongly second that, I've been trying to fight against the vandalism going on at the Avar Wikipedia, and tried to figure out how to get rid of that person. I hope, MONARCH79 will be successful. Although I do not speak Avar, I will continue to help out with interwiki links, fix wikisyntax and stuff like that. Maybe I'll learn a little Avar through that. Maybe he can summon more helpful Avars to write entries... — N-true 01:07, 24 May 2006 (CET)

Done - temporary adminship until September 30th; hoping some new Avar editors will come and a regular votation will take place to make this adminship permanent. --Paginazero 06:13, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

However, on a short term, if you just need to translate the interface in Sinhala, we can grant you a temporary adminship to give you the access to the system pages. How about one month? --Paginazero 06:37, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, That would be fine. I'm not an expert in both MediaWiki and Wikipedia. Plus I won't be working 100% on the this project. So I will not be able to complete the entire work in that time. Anyway something is better than nothing. :-) Thanks for the support. - Rathne 14:07, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Incubator & Meta

I request temporary admin rights on the Wikipedia Incubator and the Wikimedia Meta-wiki because of moving the test-wp pages to the Incubator for several reasons:

 • the test-wp pages on Meta have already been moved, but new ones are coming here - instead of Incubator. This needs to be solved quickly (eg. move the pages and delete them from Meta) because of growing mess.
 • on Incubator, there has been a new proposal to change the name formats of the testwikis, and several testwikis have already moved; there's a need to unify the name formats and delete the useless redirects
 • there are some pages in the deleteme category in the Incubator
 • the only current admin of Incubator is Brion, who stated he doesn't have interest in the Incubator issues.

I'm already an admin on the Czech Wikipedia. Thanks in advance. — Timichal • 20:55, 11. Jun 2006

Done, granted till, say, July 12th. Jon Harald Søby 14:30, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uyghur Wikipedia

I am Jose77 and I humbly request for admin status on the Uyghur Wikipedia under the Uyghur Username Jose77 because there is some spam on there that needs deletion, and if it is revived by any vandal then I will re-delete it. I also wish to translate the Uyghur interface from English to Uyghur. Thanks. By the way my other account name on that Wikipedia is Billik2. Here are my Recent Contributions.

In this case I can given you temporary sysop-status. Let say 3 months. After that there are maybe other users there active so you can hold an election. Is that aceptical for you? What I do not understand is why you are using 2 accounts on the wiki and the one you like to become sysop is the one that is different form you EN -account. --Walter 10:14, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I would willingly accept temporary sysop-status under the Username Jose77 for up to 3 months -- Jose77, 03:23 Tuesday 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Done 3 Months -Romihaitza 06:16, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Tajik Wikipedia

I request sysop access on tg.wikipedia:

Thank you. FrancisTyers 12:49, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Please provide a link to the local request page (if non exists, create it). Jon Harald Søby 12:51, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately I don't speak Tajik. Would it be sufficient to write it in English or Russian? Is there a boilerplate request page I can see? - FrancisTyers 12:56, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, there we are. I'm not convinced of the "correctness" of the title, as neither of the words appear in my (albeit limited ~10,000 words) wordlist. The transliteration of the Farsi page gives "дрхваоста‌ҳое мдер ш", which brings up "модар" (modar) and "мудерн" (mudern) from my wordlist, but I can't make anything of the first word or the isolated sh. - FrancisTyers 13:27, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should I be posting this in the "temporary" section? - FrancisTyers 15:04, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done 3 Months -Romihaitza 06:16, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
