North Korea voices remarks on US-South Korea military exercises

(MENAFN) North Korea sharply criticized the military exercises held between the US and South Korea, labeling them a "planned and provocative nuclear war rehearsal." on Monday.

The North vowed to enhance its military capabilities to counter any perceived threats. This strong response came after the completion of the 11-day Freedom Shield drills on Thursday, as reported by a North Korean news agency.

A statement from North Korea's Foreign Ministry’s disarmament institute accused the drills of being the most "aggressive" and "offensive" in history.

The statement added, "Having a formidable attack power that no one can stop and an overwhelming striking power is the surest guarantee to preventing war and effectively containing and controlling any threat and blackmail from aggressors."

North Korea pledged to "consistently renew and strengthen its responses in all areas to overwhelm any military act by its enemies."
