CORIN
A gene on chromosome 4p13-p12 that encodes a serine-type endopeptidase which converts non-functional propeptide NPPA into active atrial natriuretic peptide hormone, resulting in natriuresis, diuresis and vasodilation. CORIN may also process pro-NPPB, the B-type natriuretic peptide.Molecular pathology
Defects in CORIN cause pre-eclampsia/eclampsia type 5.
