CHAD

A gene on chromosome 17q21.33 that encodes chondroadherin, a small leucine-rich repeat (LRR) proteoglycan which promotes attachment of chondrocytes, fibroblasts and osteoblasts, mediated by the integrin alpha2beta1. It may play an important role in regulating chondrocyte growth and proliferation.
