Dr. Shelly graduated with honours from University College Dublin in 2002 and after completing internship and postgraduate training in surgery at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin he was awarded membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (MRCSI) in 2004. Dr. Shelly subsequently pursued specialist training in radiology at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin and in 2010 was awarded the Fellowship of the Faculty of Radiologists, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FFRRCSI). Dr. Shelly subsequently undertook clinical fellowship training in abdominal imaging and interventional radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston and was Chief Fellow in 2012. Dr. Shelly was appointed Consultant Radiologist in the Department of Radiology, University of Limerick Hospitals and took up this post in July 2015. His subspecialty interests include abdominal and pelvic imaging, body MRI, oncologic imaging, and non vascular interventional radiology.
