Jürgen Mulsow, MD, FRCSI (Peritoneal Surgery)

Jürgen Mulsow is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with a specialist interest in advanced lower gastrointestinal cancer and peritoneal malignancy. He received his medical degree (MB BCh, 2000) from University College Dublin and was awarded the degree of doctor of medicine (MD, 2006) for his work investigating stricture pathogenesis in Crohn’s disease at the Conway Institute, University College Dublin. He completed surgical training in Ireland (FRCS, 2010) before undertaking a fellowship in colorectal surgical oncology in Erlangen, Germany. He was awarded the Association of Surgeons Great Britain and Ireland Gold Medal in 2010. In 2012 he was the Association of Coloproctology Great Britain and Ireland Travelling Fellow to the United States and in the same year was appointed as Consultant Surgeon to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin. He subsequently played a leading role in the development of the National Centre for Peritoneal Malignancy at the Mater Hospital. Mr Mulsow is the current Head of the Department of Colorectal Surgery and Chair of the Division of Surgery audit committee.

Mr Mulsow serves on multiple national and international committees including the Peritoneal Malignancy subcommittee of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.

He is widely published in the areas of peritoneal and colorectal cancer and retains an active interest in post-graduate surgical training and mentorship.
