UC Davis Food & Health Innovator Fellowship

Ph.D.s and postdocs interested in food and health innovations are encouraged to apply to this immersive fellowship. Gain real-world knowledge from venture capital groups, learn first-hand how investment decisions are made and be involved in the evaluation of start-ups. Funding includes six months of salary, tuition, accommodation, travel, conference and research expenses up to $50,000. Start date is flexible between July-October.
UC Davis Graduate Writing Fellowships

Graduate students with strong writing skills from all disciplines are encouraged to apply to become a graduate writing fellow for the 2023-24 academic year. Six to seven Graduate Writing Fellows will be accepted representing the humanities, social and natural sciences, engineering and business/management.
Summer GSR Award for Engineering or Computer-related Applications and Methods

Continuing UC Davis graduate students pursuing research in engineering, or continuing students from other disciplines, who are developing new computer-related applications and methods, such as materials science and nanotechnology, computational science, bioinformatics and information technology are encouraged to apply. A broad definition of the relevant research fields and research topics will be used in accepting applications; the above are example areas. Students who are interested are encouraged to work with a faculty member. Due to the matching fund requirement, the nomination form should be submitted by faculty only.
PhRMA

The PhRMA Foundation Predoctoral & Postdoctoral Fellowship in Drug Delivery provides support for students in advanced stages of training and thesis research in drug delivery research, including basic pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical biotechnology or biomedical engineering. Fellowships are $25,000 per year, up to two years for predoctoral, and $60,000 per year, for up to two years for postdoctoral.

Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute Fellowships

The Short-Term Fellowship Program provides support for graduate students and introduces them to tropical research. The selected candidates can travel to STRI at any time of the year. Although focused primarily on graduate students, awards are occasionally given to postdoctoral candidates. These fellowships enable selected candidates to work in the tropics and explore research possibilities at STRI.
The Helen Hay Whitney Foundation Research Fellowship

The program provides a minimum stipend of $60,000, a travel allowance of $10,000 and reimbursements for health insurance and relocation. U.S. and non-U.S. scientists may apply.

The 7th edition of the Special Program on Tropical Bio-based Production Systems will take place in the Agriculture College of University of São Paulo, Piracicaba, SP-Brazil from July 24 to August 4. This edition was developed considering the most relevant topics related to bio-based production systems with the purpose of offering a comprehensive vision about Brazilian agriculture production including economic, technical and social aspects. The program is free of charge to students.
