Thanks for stopping by before the rating window closed! The whole team put 110% into making this game so we’re super happy people like you are enjoying it so much!

We love to hear it! Thanks for playing!

Thank you!

We can’t wait to start working on expanding what we have! It will have to wait though as we wrap up our current ongoing project but we’ll be sure to update the page with details as we go!

A full OST will be posted on YouTube sometime in the coming week or two! We’ll link it in the page or you can subscribe to our musician Benjamin as he’ll post it to his channel (its the link on his name in the page credits)

We initially had the list outside a drop down menu but wanted to avoid spoilers. Given how late it is in the voting period it probably won’t help put too much anymore :( We’ll probably make sure our bugs are more clearly indicated for future releases though!

Thats a bug that we hope to patch immediately post-jam. We apologize for not catching it sooner especially with so many people experiencing it and having a bad time with it.

Thanks for playing and letting us know!

Thank you! Our artists are extremely happy to hear all this positivity!

The radar is something we can definitely fix for sure!! Thank you for playing our game!

Thanks for playing! A better upgrade tree was in the works but unfortunately had to be cut due to the jams deadline. We found that a fully functional but simple set of upgrades was better than an unfinished, broken, and jumbled mess of additional abilities and stat changes. If we move into a full release I’m sure we’ll introduce a wider variety of modifications and improvements for the sub. The fish values were a problem to display on the programming end but I’m not qualified to speak on it myself unfortunately. Thank you for offering up your ideas and comments! It helps us know what to focus on moving forward.

We may or may not have overworked ourselves. The polish is most likely from the time we had to run some quick playtests! The before and after for the play testing might've looked super similar but so many of our quality of life changes came out of getting some player opinions before submission!

Thank you for playing!

Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed the game!

For sure yeah. The scanning seems to be an issue of prioritizing the most recent fish that comes up during the scanning process when like you said it would be ideal to have scans not be interrupted. If and when we expand on the game we’ll be sure to fix this!

We’re sorry to hear that. What are your specs? We can see if the issue is possible to resolve without modifying the game files. Otherwise, we’ll add it as a benchmark for minimum performance onto our page.

If you haven’t already, you can try downloading the game to see if that helps.

Treating it like a 2 day jam still resulted in 3 days of implementing features and mechanics (whats overscoping??😗). Fortunately art was done earlier than the programming so the artists could largely take a break. Next year we’ll try and have programming match the pace of the artists so that we can do bigger and better things without the same amount of crunch

It's great to hear that you enjoyed our game. Hopefully there'll be many more just as good in the future eh? Thank you so much.

Yeah we were going for a little bit of shock value there! Hopefully the expanding camera and music helped clue you in! So glad to have you play our game!

Manager speaking, coordination is everything! A team of two doesn’t magically double output and that extends to a team of six (plus an extra musician for a last minute track and VA) My job is to get us as a group to as close as maximum effectiveness as I can and I’m super happy to be working with people that can make that happen with me!

💪

The entire team is ecstatic hearing all this positivity towards our game. This being a first jam for so much of the team it’s been a big thing for them to experience this all. Thank you so much for playing our  game!

With so many people telling us that Out of Depth could be it’s own game and my own head full of ideas we are genuinely making this exact consideration. It might take quite a few months and will probably involve starting from scratch so that everything can be exactly as we originally had imagined. Thank you for playing and we’re glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for rating our game! It means a lot!

Thank you so much! That was the goal for us and we're super happy it resonated with you and so many others.

Thank you so much. As a new group with a lot of uncertainty moving forward into commercial products and "going legit" hearing this makes us more confident that we'll be ok!

Menus were one  of the big challenges to design for us since our UI artist wasn't always on the same page as our programmer putting the art in. If we had an additional couple of hours we might've considered redoing them but this is what we had at the time. We'll be sure to put visibility and ease of use further up the list of priorities moving forward. Thank you so much for playing our game!

Hehe yeah you might be right about that. We’re glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks for the feedback too 😄

Thanks for rating!

Thank you! Our team does love cats 😁

Thank you so much for playing!

Thank you so much! We might venture into some other jams too if the time allows for it! Ludum Dare is definitely my pick at least! We’re glad that the final boss gave you the intended experience (dying might be on you though) 😁 Sorry about having oxygen deplete at the surface. We wanted to change it but by the time our play testers commented on it it was too late :(

Thank you so much for your kind review! We may or may not have lost a lot of sleep making this game so that’ll probably be the reason we got it so polished 😅 with so many people on our team we were able to work super efficiently and everyone is just so talented at what they do. I couldn't ask for a better group to be developing games with!

Thank you so much for playing our game!

Scan time was a directly related to the size if the thing being scanned so for a lot of the bigger fish that would be a long long time. There might’ve also been some bugs with the framerate of it making it take longer for some people than others which went unnoticed during testing since we all have slightly higher performance devices to run things on.

It is one of our big regrets that we werent able to effectively incorporate the idea of progressively increasing size and a difference in scale as the dive went deeper. We’ll be sure to exaggerate this more if and when we revisit the game!

Looking back we do admit the idea of the fish getting bigger relative to the sub as you went down definitely could have been more pronounced and exaggerated. We’re sorry it didnt resonate with you as much as we’d hoped. That shortcoming is on us for prioritization the development of what we had without further adhering to the theme. Thank you for playing our game though and Im glad you still enjoyed the experience!

if we ever make any (its entirely possible) i’ll personally send some to you.

Thank you so much! We were hoping to spook some people with that so we're glad we did with you!

We're very sorry about that one particular bug. It's by no means game breaking but it is a huge pain and certainly doesn't help with enjoyment getting no reward for getting to the big boss. We should've caught it sooner but our testing might not have been rigorous enough for it unfortunately. We'll be sure to fix it and the other issues post-jam so that people can enjoy the game into the future too!

Thank you so much for playing our game! I hoped to make as polished of a simple mechanic as our time allowed for in the jam so I love that other people believe in this philosophy too!

We got lucky! The entire team is a group of high school and uni students so most of us were free all the way. Our musicians flight got delayed so he composed a lot of stuff while on his flight and I myself was travelling as well (my flight got delayed 3 hours the night before submission so that added quite a bit of stress in the last minute push).

Thank you so much for your kind words!

And perhaps we'll tone down the scale of the game too. By the time we figured out that we needed a gosh darn fish AI (even if it was decently simple) we knew we bit off more than we should've.
