Marketplace

We wish to thank Replay Magazine for their support. Replay was the source of our Marketplace volumes, the only known existing bound set.

  1. Vol. 1 No. 1 --- February 24, 1962 to Vol. 25, No. 475 --- Last Quarter 1985
  2. Cutouts: Feb 1977 pages 16,18 and March 1977 pages 7, 15; Missing: Dec 15, 1969, Page 15
  3. It began as a 4 page newsletter. By the end of 1962, it was up to 16 pages in size
  4. Name changed from 'Inside Vending' to 'Marketplace' gradually
  5. In mid-1962, a classifieds section was added which was called 'Inside Vending Business'
  6. The classifieds section became 'The Marketplace' with the August 18, 1962 issue.
  7. The publication's name was officially changed to 'Marketplace' with Vol. 3 No. 1 --- January 15, 1963
  8. The publisher remained Inside Vending, Inc. until the end of its run.
  9. The last issue refers to their 1942 creation of a coin-op magazine, "Cash Box", which they sold in 1958 but by then it had become a "music" magazine.
  10. The last issue stated they then "turned back to the coin machine industry with "Inside Vending" which, in 1960 became "Marketplace".
  11. This doesn't appear correct, as the first issue appeared to be in 1962 instead of 1958 (Does anyone have any pre-1962 issues?) and the name changed definately occured in January 1962, not 1960.
