On the East End, a clam bar is gearing up for the season.

The Clam Bar at Napeague in Amagansett said it is opening for the season on April 11, marking the 44th year in business for this seafood snack spot.

New this year for the Clam Bar is the “Shuck Truck,” a refurbished, retro 66-foot Citroen H Van now serving as a food truck available for private events. It will feature live-shucked clams and oysters, shrimp cocktail as well as wines, spritzes and cocktails.

Owners Kelly and John Piccinnini said they searched “high and low” for the van, and wanted to make sure the catering truck’s vibe matched that of the Clam Bar.

“Now we can bring the Clam Bar to life in your backyard,” they said in a news release about the upcoming season.

“We hear regularly that our customers don’t just come to us for the food, they also come for the atmosphere, the staff, the music etc. So whether you are hosting a wedding welcome gathering, a clam bake with friends or your child’s birthday party, the Shuck Truck will allow us to create a curated full-service experience featuring the Clam Bar vibe,” they said.

The Clam Bar offers lobster roll, New England clam chowder, lobster BLT, fish and chips and more. It also features catering.
