After a major bridge connecting the northern part of the capital Khartoum to the second biggest city of Omdurman has been destroyed.

The army on Monday accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces of targeting the Halfaya bridge.

Also on Monday, unidentified armed men attacked three World Food Program trucks carrying food aid on their way to Central Darfur.

Food aid meant to feed thousands was looted.
