
The Legacy Program
- Do you identify as a Black young woman attending high school in Alabama?
- Are you planning to take AP Computer Science Principles (CSP) in the 2023-2024 academic year?
- Would you like to ensure success in AP CSP?
If so…then the Legacy Program is for you!
Legacy is a free program designed to help young Black women succeed in AP CSP.
When?
- June 12-16, 2023: on campus at University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa; arrive on June 11 for checkin (you must live in the dorms all week and attend all sessions, no excused absences)
- July 24-26, 2023: on campus at Tuskegee University; arrive on July 23 for checkin (you must live in the dorms for both days and attend all sessions, no excused absences)
- Fall 2023: Attend two online AP CSP Study Sessions
- Spring 2024: Attend three AP CSP Study Sessions
- May 2024: LEGACY Scholars must commit to taking the AP CSP exam in May 2024.
Cost?
- Free to apply and free to attend. The program covers all materials and provides reimbursement for travel to the Fall/Spring study sessions. We even cover your exam AP fee!
Plus a Stipend!
- Students who complete all program activities will receive a stipend of up to $2,000.
Applications are now open and will be reviewed until all positions are open. Positions are limited, so early applications are encouraged!
