Magnetar (-aris, n., portmanteau ab Anglico magnet + star, stella magnetica), est stella neutronica extremo campo magnetico (ab ∼109 T usque ~1011 T). Ante mensem Iulium anni 2021, viginti quattuor magnetaria nota sunt.
Historia
[recensere | fontem recensere]Exsistentia magnetarium a Ruperto Duncan ac Christophoro Thomson anno 1992 proposita est ad mollis radiationis gamma iteratra claranda.[1][2] Quae coniectura sequentibus annis recepta est, et extenta ad pulsaria enormium radiorum Roentgenianorum explicanda.
