Ethel Lewis Clowes passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, after 106 years of life. She was born in 1916 in South Wales, U.K. to Thomas Lewis and Mary Williams Lewis, and was the youngest of ten children. Ethel worked as a nurse before her marriage to Joseph H. Clowes in Staffordshire, England, and they had three children. She raised the children alone while her husband was away flying airplanes for the Royal Airforce during WWII. In 1957, the family left England and sailed aboard the Queen Mary for life in the United States. Ethel was multi-talented. A few of her hobbies and interests included sewing, tailoring, knitting, reading, jewelry making, cake decorating and decoupage. She is survived by three children, Pauline C. Dixon, Thomas H. Cameron and his wife Marcia and Alan S. Cameron: and four grandchildren, Thomas M. Dixon, III and his wife Lisa, Susan E. Dixon, Gregory D. Cameron and Maggie E. Cameron.
