Local Jewish filmmakers Marc Lempert & Todd Slobin’s Pocket Full of Soul: The Harmonica Documentary (PFOS) will be screened at River Oaks Theater on Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. All proceeds will be donated to KPFT 90.1 FM to support this local public radio station.

The film is packed with footage and chats with Billboard chart-topping and award-winning harmonica enthusiasts, including John Popper (Blues Traveler), country music legend Clint Black, Magic Dick (J. Geils Band), Delbert McClinton, Charlie Musselwhite and Willie Nelson’s band member Mickey Raphael.
Show business types that incorporated the harmonica into their acts, including Alan “Mr. Fabulous” Rubin (The Blues Brothers), comedian Robert Klein and even Alvin, of Alvin and the Chipmunks are also included in the film, which is narrated by rock-n-roll legend and harmonica player Huey Lewis.
Marc Lempert and Todd Slobin also attempted to break the World Record for the largest harmonica ensemble at an Astros game.
