This review aims to assess strategies to increase the number of children vaccinated in low - and middle-income countries. 41 studies covering 100,747 participants from 20 countries were included. The main findings indicate that: - Immunisation outreach and health education likely improve vaccination rates. - Specially designed immunisation cards and community leader involvement may have a positive impact. - Phone reminders may have little effect. - The evidence's certainty ranges from moderate to very low, suggesting that further research is needed. The review highlights the need for more rigorous research to inform policy and practice in increasing vaccine uptake in low- and middle-income countries.
