From April 14 to 17, the Centre for Skills Development and Vocational Education at the HSE University hosted Professor Santosh Mehrotra, one of the world’s leading experts in labor, employment, education, and social policy, and a visiting professor at the University of Bath (United Kingdom).
Researchers from the Centre for Vocational Education and Skills Development participated in an international panel discussion focused on the experiences of first-generation students in higher education. The session, co-organized by the HSE Institute of Education, brought together experts from Russia and the United States to discuss the structural and cultural barriers that shape access to higher education.
On February 18th, an international seminar with foreign partners of the Center for Skills Development and Vocational Education took place, focusing on public-private partnerships in vocational education (TVET) systems of BRICS countries.
On December 19th, 2024, the Centre for Vocational Education and Skills Development participated in a meeting with representatives from the Institute of Vocational Education at Tongji University (China).
In late August 2024, a session titled “Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in BRICS Regions: Institutional Landscape and Current Development Trends” was held in Moscow as part of the BRICS International Municipal Forum 2024. Organised by HSE University, the session brought together experts to discuss the unique characteristics of national TVET systems in BRICS countries, current developmental priorities, and opportunities for sharing best practices.
From August 26–30, 2024, the European Conference on Educational Research (ECER), organised by the European Educational Research Association (EERA), took place at the University of Cyprus.
In March 2024, researches of the Institute of Education visited leading universities in Beijing, China, to strengthen established ties and deepen research cooperation. As part of their visit, scholars shared their research results and gave guest lectures.
