Lost Time 09:41

about

“Strong gravity slows time,” Sam explained.
“In fact, for my right hand, time would pass at half the rate of my left.
If you had a time-lapse camera and watched these hands for years, you would see my left begin to wrinkle and discolor while my right barely aged.
That is gravity’s effect on time."
A.G. Riddle, Lost in Time

Ingrid N:
"I processed my live played gongs so that sometimes only
an extreme vibration signal remained.
This gave me a feeling of complete freedom on my musical journey.
And the gongs could be seen from a new perspective.
They offer so many unusual sound possibilities.
Scott and I could not foresee where this sound experiment would
take us. But I am convinced that in all music the essence of the soul that created it becomes visible."

After listening to these more experimental gong improvisations which Ingrid sent me, I decided to be as equally experimental in contributing to them.
Two compositions by Morton Feldman informed my choices of instrumentation and direction for the improvising, Rothko Chapel (1971) and for Philip Guston (1984).
