Delhi entrepreneur praises IndiGo crew member for heroic action during in-flight medical emergency
The Delhi man, unaware of the crew member's name, referred to her as a 'superwoman'.
A Delhi entrepreneur recently shared a heartfelt account of an inspiring act of heroism aboard an IndiGo flight. In a LinkedIn post, Sanchit Mahajan, co-founder of Spotlight Scouts & Orion Hostels, detailed an incident from his journey on flight 6E 353 from Pune to Delhi on January 12, 2025.
Mahajan described the tense moment when an elderly passenger believed to be in his 70s, began losing consciousness mid-flight. With no medical professionals onboard, the situation felt dire, leaving passengers anxious and unsure of how to help.
In the midst of the chaos, one IndiGo cabin crew member stepped up with exceptional composure and courage. “She was a true SUPERWOMAN,” Mahajan wrote, noting that while he didn’t know her name, her actions made a profound impression.
With unwavering focus, the crew member supported the passenger’s neck, administered oxygen, and worked tirelessly for 30-40 minutes to stabilise him. Thanks to her relentless efforts, the passenger eventually regained consciousness. However, the ordeal left an emotional impact, and Mahajan noticed the crew member in tears afterwards, likely overcome by the weight of the moment. “It was heartfelt, seeing her give her absolute best to a situation that many of us wouldn’t have been prepared to handle,” he wrote.
While Mahajan ensured he personally thanked her before deboarding, he also expressed disappointment that many passengers did not fully acknowledge the crew’s extraordinary efforts. He called on IndiGo to officially recognise the team for their compassion and professionalism.
IndiGo quickly responded to Mahajan’s post, expressing gratitude: “Thank you for sharing this incredible experience, Mr. Mahajan. Stories like these motivate us to maintain a compassionate and supportive environment on board. Your kind words acknowledging our team’s efforts mean a lot to us, and we’ll be sure they are recognised for their dedication. We look forward to serving you again with the same commitment and care. – Team IndiGo.”
As the post gained traction, LinkedIn user Apurb Singh identified the cabin crew member involved: “Sanchit Mahajan Hi, I just came across your post and the superwoman we are talking about here is Khushbu Singh based out of Kolkata, a dear friend of mine. She shared the entire incident about what happened on Pune Del flight on 12th of Jan so I could connect with your post. She is not here on linkedin but I have forwarded all the applause and appreciation she has received. IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) let us appreciate the super lady for her heroic efforts and give her the due credits.”
