Osmotic Demyelination Syndrome includes Central Pontine Myelinolysis and Extrapontine Myelinolysi... more Osmotic Demyelination Syndrome includes Central Pontine Myelinolysis and Extrapontine Myelinolysis. This condition has been described in cases of chronic Alcohol Dependence Syndrome and in rapid correction of hyponatremia. Though we frequently see patients with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome presenting with complicated withdrawal, Central Pontine Myelinolysis remains largely undetected and under-reported in literature. We present here a case of protracted Delirium Tremens where MRI brain revealed Central Pontine Myelinolysis. Subsequently cognitive assessment revealed significant dysfunction and brain SPECT showed hypo-perfusion of the frontal lobes. Osmotic Demyelination Syndrome should be suspected in protracted Delirium Tremens.

The ternary chalcopyrite compounds are a very renowned category to perform the theoretical invest... more The ternary chalcopyrite compounds are a very renowned category to perform the theoretical investigation in order to find out a proper and apt compound for optoelectronic application. Solar cell is a very interesting field to compensate the energy supplying needs in place of other electricity generating sources. Several semiconductor compounds have been investigated and amongst them we have done a theoretical investigation of pure BeSnN2 using DFT based computational tool i.e. Wien2k. The exchange correlation used for our study is Perdew Burke Ernzerhoff: Generalized Gradient Approximation (PBE-GGA). We have done electronic and optical investigation of the compound using the basic lattice parameters and other essential input parameters. The investigation has offered a bandgap of 1.005 eV which is suitable to quote for the optoelectronic applications. Optical properties like absorption, dielectric tensor (both real and imaginary), refraction and reflection have been investigated.

In India it occurs in foothill of Himalaya, Assam, Sikkim, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. It is an important herb which is been used for centuries in the Ayurvedic system of medicine. The leaves of plant are use as tonic, stomachic, carminative, internally in dysentery also checking vomiting. Murraya koenigii Linn. are used as flavorings, condiment and folk medicine for the treatment of various metabolic and infectious diseases. Leaves,fruits, roots and bark of the plant are a rich source of carbazole alkaloids which posses various pharmacological activities such as antitumor, antiviral, antiinflammatory, antipyretic, antimicrobial, antidibetic, antihypertensive, inotropic effect, hypolipedemic, antiulcer,antidiarrhoeal, antioxidant, anthelmintic, analgesic, antifungal, hepatoprotective, antiasthmatic,antiamnesic, immunomodulator, phagocytic, radioprotective, anticholinesterse, wound-healing nephroprotective, antitrichomonal, antipyretic, antiosteoporotic, antiprotozoal, larvicidal activity, apoptosis in human leukemic cells, trypsin inhibitor, corrosion inhibitor, skin protective, seed protective,and cure piles. It is also effective against colon carcinogensis. The various parts of this plant are widely used by different tribal communities. Following various claims for cure the numerous diseases, efforts have been made by researchers to verify the efficacy of the plant through scientific biological screening. The present review is an attempt to highlight various phytochemical and pharmacological reports of Murraya koenigii Linn.

Toxic effects of sub-chronic oral exposure of indoxacarb on biochemical parameters in buffalo calves

Repeated oral administration of Indoxacarb, an oxadiazine insecticide, at the dose rate of 1 mg/k... more Repeated oral administration of Indoxacarb, an oxadiazine insecticide, at the dose rate of 1 mg/kg/day for 90 consecutive days produced mild signs of toxicity in buffalo calves. Indoxacarb significantly elevated the plasma levels of aspartate aminotransferase (38.3%), alanine aminotransferase (52.9%), alkaline phosphatase (29.5%) and acid phosphatase (36.6%). Cholinesterase levels in plasma, whole blood and erythrocyte also showed elevation. Indoxacarb did not produce any significant alterations in levels of blood urea nitrogen and creatinine. However there was an increase in blood glucose (16.9%), plasma cholesterol (19.6%) and total plasma proteins (10.8%). It can be concluded from the present study that indoxacarb is a low risk insecticide in buffalo calves.

To overcome this problem some optimization techniques have been used to solve the economic load dispatch problem. This paper presents an efficient and reliable Biogeography Based Optimization (BBO) algorithm, which is used to solve the Economic Load Dispatch problem of thermal power station even as generator and transmission constraints are considered and satisfying it. Biogeography basically is the study of the geographical distribution of the biological organism. Biogeography based optimization is a comparatively new approach. Mathematical models of biogeography explain how an organism arises and how to migrate from one habitat to another habitat, or get died out. In BBO algorithm, solutions are sharing the good features between solutions that are immigration and emigration process. This algorithm looks for the overall optimum solution mostly through two steps - Migration and Mutation. The Results of the proposed method have been compared with results of IEEE 30-bus, 6 generator system and got the better quality of the obtained solution. This method is one of the prominent approaches for solving the Economic Load Dispatch problems under practical conditions.

Abstract Creep-fatigue interaction (CFI) behavior of 9Cr-1.8W-0.5Mo-VNb steel (Grade 92 steel) ba... more Abstract Creep-fatigue interaction (CFI) behavior of 9Cr-1.8W-0.5Mo-VNb steel (Grade 92 steel) base metal and its weld joint has been investigated at 823 K using a constant strain rate of 3 × 10–3 s−1. Both the base metal and the weld joint exhibited continuous softening with an almost equal cyclic stress response. The fatigue life decreased with increasing hold time. The hold applied in the compressive peak strain proved more deleterious compared to the tensile hold, indicating a compressive dwell sensitivity. Besides, the weld joints showed a greater reduction in fatigue life compared to the base metal. Fracture surfaces of the tested specimens revealed the prevalence of secondary cracks and extensive oxidation in the material. Weld joint specimens failed in the base metal region in all the tests. Evidence of dynamic strain aging in the form of serrations in the stress-strain hysteresis loops was also noted.
