Not all decisions carry the same weight, and it’s essential to distinguish between what’s urgent and what’s important. Prioritizing high-impact decisions ensures that your energy is directed toward areas that will significantly affect your organization. Create a list of tasks and rank them based on their importance and urgency, tackling the most critical ones first. Awareness of self and others through #Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness practices to maintain clarity and reduce stress. Mindfulness helps you stay present and focused and puts people and situations into perspective, which can significantly reduce the mental clutter that leads to decision fatigue. Simple practices such as deep breathing, meditation, or even a short walk can help clear your mind and recharge your mental batteries. Other techniques like engaging the 5 senses and Heart and brain coherence breathing greatly have served my cohorts and clients. Mindfulness also improves emotional regulation, helping you respond to challenges with a calm and clear mind. Reflecting on your decision-making habits can provide valuable insights into how you manage your mental resources. Consider setting aside time each week to review your decision-making processes and identify areas where you can improve. This reflection can help you develop more efficient strategies and prevent burnout. A Perspective of A Young Professional. A recent dialogue with the CHRO of a rising startup shed light on the evolving priorities of today’s fresh graduates when choosing an employer. A budding HR professional provided key insights that reflect a shift in what young workers value: First Contact: The first interaction with a potential employer is crucial. It sets the tone, showing whether the company is welcoming and patient, and if it values understanding and nurturing new talent. Researching the Company: Young professionals thoroughly investigate potential employers, focusing on the longevity of the founders, managers, and peers. This reflects the company’s culture and stability, which are vital for those seeking long-term opportunities. Workplace Logistics and Safety: Practicalities like commute distance and workplace safety are significant. Accessibility and a secure environment are essential for maintaining work-life balance and well-being. Understanding Personal Space and Time: Corporates in India must recognize the growing importance of personal space and time for young professionals. This generation places a high value on work-life balance and seeks employers who respect and support their need for personal time and space. I believe these observations was an eye opener for me as it underscores the need for companies to align their practices with the expectations of the young workforce, focusing on transparency, cultural fit, and respect for personal boundaries to attract and retain top talent.

Observing leadership style/traits are not new... We often do that as it would help us grow to how leaders act, react, manage and excel in any situation. We can be adaptive by aligning our communication channel with theirs and ensuring our messages are clear, concise, and tailored to the preferences of larger business goals. ➡️ 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬: It is a good observation to know what kind of leaders are you dealing with. Is he/she analytical and data-driven, or do they rely more on intuition or a visionary? Notice how they involve others in the decision-making process and how they handle disagreements or conflicts. Understanding their decision-making style can help you present information and suggestions in a way that resonates with them. ➡️ 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡: Look for patterns in how leaders motivate and inspire teams. It will help you as a buddy leader to observe the leadership presence, the ability to delegate and empower others, and how a leader can handle challenges and setbacks in his/her life. ➡️ 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞: Actively seek feedback from leaders and value their expertise. Ask for their insights on specific situations or challenges, and listen attentively to their responses. ➡️ 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞: While it is important to observe, do research about various leadership style - I would recommend NOT TO COPY OTHERS. It is important that once you observed and understood a leader's style, adapt your own behaviour to align with it. This means not losing your authenticity and adjusting your approach to effectively work as a successful leader. Always remember - A leader should show flexibility and a willingness to adapt to situations, while still bringing unique skills and expertise to the table. #business #youngleaders
