India has its own unique set of positions, we are the most populous country, with increased life expectancy, and a significant population with low age (and surely we need them all healthy and productive). Our healthcare needs are also growing - with more diseases, lower per capita coverage of healthcare facilities and insurance, late-stage detections, and costly therapeutics, to name just a few general ones. The last paragraph mentions how delivery systems and tech companies will drive digitalization in the US, and this is surely applicable to India too.  Look at the way our digitalization is working well - Aadhaar card, Indian Railways Ticketing, etc. Let us work together.

To improve the understanding of the genetic variations of cancer in India, the Indian Cancer Genome Atlas (ICGA) Foundation launched a data portal, which aims to be a repository for India-specific cancer genomics. This portal aims to benefit researchers worldwide in providing tailored cancer treatments for patients Historically, cancer treatments in India have been based on Western data sets. However, cancers in Indian patients can differ significantly at the molecular level.Many of the drugs developed for cancer treatments are not effective for Indian patients because cancer development differs significantly molecular level .

Dear LinkedIn Family, Over the last two decades, at least, there have been strategies for improving healthcare delivery through implementing IT programmes, these are now called eHealth or Digital Health initiatives, and these are now less criticized for undersimating the key stakeholders, i.e., patients and the medics. The document attracted my attention, putting the patients at the center of attention and the emphasis on patient empowerment through improved access to information at the point of decision making. However, in practice, the interactions between patients and clinicians is key and the availability and accessibility of information cannot guarantee that sort of empowerment. Informed choice is achieved in a participatory process in which both patients and clinicians' expectations are considered appropriately in a well-analyzed context of care delivery. The document remarks six key principles including patient empowerment, workforce, and data driven services. The significance of these principles are shared here and there, however, the real function of either of these is well-explained in real working conditions and within their own context. Thank you
