The landscape for women in real estate leadership roles in India has seen considerable progress over recent years, although significant barriers remain. As per an India Today report, 39% of Indian companies have women in CXO roles. Despite these advancements, boardroom diversity in India is progressing slowly. Only 17.1% of board seats are held by women, and a mere 3.6% of board chairs are women. This slow progress highlights the ongoing challenges in achieving gender parity at the highest levels of corporate governance. Additionally, women often encounter gender bias and stereotypes that question their competency and leadership abilities. To overcome these barriers, companies should implement mentorship programs (helping women navigate challenges and build confidence), offer flexible work arrangements (help balance professional and personal responsibilities, leading to higher job satisfaction and retention) and develop skill programs (such as leadership and negotiation workshops) to equip women with the necessary tools for career advancement. As someone who has been in the industry for 16 years, I make it a point to platform talented women and provide mentorship. #RealEstate #Leadership #WomenLeaders
