dark comedy
A piece or genre of fiction in which normally serious or somber events are counterpoised with comedic elements. The dark comedy follows the exploits of a man whose bumbling mishaps lead to the deaths of those around him. Despite the very dire and unflinching plot elements, there is just enough humor in this dark comedy to keep you from feeling totally depressed by the end. The director's new black comedy offers a biting critique of modern capitalism.
