board out

To send a person (usually a child) or animal to temporarily live somewhere other than their home. A noun or pronoun can be used between "board" and "out." I boarded my son out to my parents' house while I was gone on a business trip. I had to board out my dog before my vacation to Hawaii because I was going to be gone for two weeks. I'm so glad you're staying with Fluffy while I'm away. I always hated having to board her out.

board (someone or an animal) out

to send someone or an animal away to live, temporarily. (Usually said of a school-age child or a pet.) They decided to board Billy out. They boarded out the dog while they were on vacation.
