Rezumat Principalele idei pe care se bazează propunerea de proiect sunt: 1.producerea unei baze d... more Rezumat Principalele idei pe care se bazează propunerea de proiect sunt: 1.producerea unei baze de date colaborative open-access pentru arhitectură contemporană; 2.propunerea unei metode de vizualizare structurată și a mai multor moduri de mapare și conectare de informație și imagini; 3.găsirea/identificarea și definirea unei noi generații de arhitectură proiecte-clădiri; 4.construirea unei discuții avansate pentru designul arhitectural viitor; 5.fabricarea de noi idei, găsirea de semnificații și tendințe prin scurte scrieri și discuții. Metoda propusă este de a structura ideile într-un concept singular totodată cu revizitarea, reeditarea și rescrierea manifestului arhitectural (architectural manifesto) pentru Restarting Avantgarde al echipei de autori, pentru declarația specifică de idei, făcînd din proiectul propus un instrument activ pentru un posibil viitor București cultural. Pe scurt, declarația membrilor echipei este să (se) conecteze și reconecteze la Școala de Arhitectură/ Facultatea de Arhitectură UAUIM București, pentru a contribui împreună și baza pe principii comune, să militeze, activeze și angajeze arhitectura de secol 21 a Bucureștiului în noile setări de valoare Europene. Propunerea de proiect include de asemeni înrolarea și contribuția arhitecților prin propriile proiecte construite de autor pentru cartarea unui ghid de secol 21 al Bucureștiului. Urban and Territorial Space Walls – Architecture (Symbolic) Sequences

From the wall that separated in the 20th century Berlin in two halves, to walls as signs of power... more From the wall that separated in the 20th century Berlin in two halves, to walls as signs of power, protection and demarcation in vast territories (with diverse motivations) – as Chinese Wall, Roman Wall(s), etc. -, to new insertions (past or contemporary citadels) – that represents the authority (big size buildings of the leadership powers), the construction narration message of the walls within the city and territory could be different and diverse: separation, power, oppression, protection, defensive, reinforcement. But all represents specific boundary limits that are to be remark in the land field and humanity culture, because they generated attitudes in the citizen communication over space and time, and anthropological attitude change points according with neighborhood, society, humans, private or public life reactions and needs. Theorizing the wall as a macro-scale construction action in the landscapes, scale and visibility are to be noted, together with the specific size, material and techniques, technology of meaning, established neighborhood relations, and the evolution of the wall insertion as significance/symbol. The article aims to expose what is the present purpose of past and present walls within territories, how their past-present significance uses resources of memory and architectural space anthropology, and to evaluate their change of message in urban atmosphere. The article is part of the postdoctoral research study of the author “Types of innovation in cultural spaces.\working with/in[ cultural spaces_ tradition and innovation.” developed between 2013 and 2015, work supported by a grant of the Romanian Ministry of Education, CNCS-UEFISCDI, project number PN-II-PD-2012-3-0515.

Architecture seen as multiple codes in numbers, figures and counting on people, models and spaces... more Architecture seen as multiple codes in numbers, figures and counting on people, models and spaces could be quite an interesting approach of what architecture could mean in the context of contemporary vision of design places in the 21st Century. What is a space designated for, or which is the purpose of architecture as program and action, -these could be interesting issues to evaluate when thinking on different scales of the city compared with a pre-understood human scale. If a house establishes simple connections with territory in figures of square meters and space units, it is dedicated to a number of people to live in, evaluating further, from a unity of living to a unity of work place, or a unity of shopping, etc., to even a unit of green space; all of these could compound the architecture as counter of digits, ciphers or codes. In similar approach thinking, architecture evolved including numbers of people that will act and use the space and models within the functional programs, making at the beginning of 21st Century interesting mutation on evaluating numbers of people and actions' figure that will be accommodated in a future urban model or space. Densification precipitated this phenomenon in accommodating diversity, numbering and nuanced capacity of spaces and buildings.

If architecture could be understood as a generic term and seen as a structure, a thinking module ... more If architecture could be understood as a generic term and seen as a structure, a thinking module of conceiving objects, so the Architecture of Architecture how might be perceived? Could formative education from architecture field be a way to "architecture"/ structure Architecture? The result analysis on the diploma projects could be a verifying instrument for sketching the future priorities and of new educational abilities to train. Misunderstandings from the students projects within the architecture education that are proving our results are not at the best level but equally the successful results of the students could set a high level of architecture school to be proud of. On the other direction, exhibitions with best diploma projects (two sessions of annual public defense having international jury) prove some durable principles implementing for forming abilities and demonstrating the necessary competencies for a sustainable thinking for the future architect, product of school of architecture. More, the development of the two editions of the international competition for architecture diploma projects EAM-European Architectural Medals for the Best Diploma Projects (EAM BDP)-organized by UAUIM / IMUAU in partnership with AEEA and ACE, value besides the abilities formation needed for the architect profession, also a synthetic decisional and critical thinking upon premises organizing, formulating questions and of the correlated decisions for targeting a final notable result. Concluding, architecture critic could be the applicable basis of a succinct analysis-included critic for the priority defining level of school of architecture, towards the model of conceiving of a project to diminish errors and prevent risks. The result of a critical analysis in forming abilities and demonstrating competencies could constitute a system of verification-communication on multiple levels of few common managerial and curricula's principles implication, simple in appliance, with multiple targets, for a sustainable professional space-time, and for rethinking a system of educational products: project-student-future professional-architectural community. A discussion: (Framing) Motion pictures for architecture and critical architectural discourse – semantics and forms

We are used to conceive architecture in perspectives or even in sequential images, each having i... more We are used to conceive architecture in perspectives or even in sequential images, each having impact on the eye and the mind (of the preceptor as reader). Drawing architecture as status and by default as exercise is driven the imagination in resulting (sometimes) specific places and designs. Learning in architecture academies is actually based on sketching, diagramming and synthesizing information through drawing, which is in fact a 2D action-and-result, residing in an imagination of a model – spatial model – of possible architecture (existent or in the process of fabrication). As programming architecture is moving forward according with numbers of people, densities and present/future challenges of the 21st century, so are the new resources for perceiving in framing process and backwards of the impact on the new perspectives developed in new kinds of motion pictures as new cinematic dynamics. Even a list of architecture in motion pictures will resume for the most of the public at movies presenting architects, architecture and places, or even object design, the referential of presenter and of the (film topic) theme both influence the perception differently than in static representation of images – from sketching designs, photography or even panoramas (static or 360 degree moving representations). The proposed article is driven the sense of having architecture presented as discourse in motion pictures and new kinds of framing types of cinematic dynamics, as valuable resource for wide and academic learning, understanding the transformations on architectural design semantics and style of the 21st century. Several highlights and observations will be detailed on several examples. Learning building as urban program punctuates the city territory, as constant diurnal attraction ... more Learning building as urban program punctuates the city territory, as constant diurnal attraction space. Contemporary architecture practice informs on several mutations towards sustainable discourse – from the school as community center, meeting PLACE, until the transformation of schools in strategic territorial points to extreme disaster cases. In all approached cases, pre-university learning buildings architecture proposes from now on an idea of the community sustainability, from the common examples dedicated to scarcity areas, to the ones with special design, and beyond to the communities that invests active in education as driver of the society. We could speak also about a characteristic on activation of actual educational space at global level through kindergartens, schools and high-schools construction which are acting as social empowerment, but facilitated at community level. The investigation on space dedicated to learning process is lead through analyzing different hypostasis on which education defines today, the principles of sustainability being permanently ordinators factors. Independent or forming integrated educational systems, based on intergenerational principles, materialized in children learning dedicated ensemble from 0 to 18 years old and not only (important is the lifelong learning concept), these function as attractors for local communities. Developing more and more often on sustainable principles, architecture of learning buildings could have a profound didactic character, knowing the fact that the power of example is primordial, no matter of age but especially in the process of training. Green buildings principles are analyzed both in the new buildings case studies (Primary School Duranes, New Mexico, 2008 / Baker Architecture + Design; Primary School Duranes, New Mexico, 2009 / Baker Architecture + Design; Nueva School California, SUA, 2007 / Leddy Maytum Stacy Architects; Primary School Complex Techum, Olanda, 2009 / Zerodegree Architecture; Primary School and Sport Hall, Boulogne Billancourt 2011-2013/ Chartier-Dalix architects) and in the case studies of functional conversions, for example old industrial ensembles (Fyrstikkalleén School, Oslo, Norvegia, 2010/ GASA Architects) offer support for interesting exercises in case of architecture learning programs, having double connotation, weighting between social role in community and the depolluting role at the city level.

Încălcarea unor limite tematice poate duce în acest caz la fluidizarea soluiilor sau la căutarea unor resurse arhitecturale mai nuanate, poetice sau bazate pe un anumit discurs arhitectural. Experimentarea unor teme mai particulare în formularea limitelor poate deopotrivă îngrădi imaginaia ca formulă de răspuns, şi obliga la analiza unor nuane dincolo de layerele spaiale obişnuite – de citire a contextului arhitectural. Completarea temei cerute la anii IV-V prin tematica de răspuns poate fi totuşi o soluie în formularea unui proiect integrat, dar şi foloseşte la inta finală a şcolii de arhitectură: formularea unui proiect complex coninând deopotrivă temă şi răspuns, şi bazându-se pe un studiu personal al autorului – student, şi al criticului – tutor. Articolul îşi propune să creioneze un discurs pe care arhitectura contemporană îl anună din peisajul exerciiilor din cadrul atelierului de la anii IV-V, şi sa conchidă asupra unor tendine cu plus şi minus, asupra unor maniere tematice. Discursul critic baleiază de la proiectele de an, comune ca temă tuturor grupelor la proiecte cu temă de atelier, care se încadrează în specificul didactic al departamentului Sinteza de Proiectare, de la proiectul de start din anul IV care face trecerea de la ciclul anterior exersat în cadrul departamentului Bazele Proiectării de Arhitectură la ultimul proiect din anul V care anună complexitatea proiectului de diplomă. Sunt investigate tipuri de teme, modalităi de abordare, de relaie cadru didactic-studeni şi studeni-studeni, rezultatele procesului didactic în relaie cu obiectivele propuse. Cuvinte cheie: atelier de proiectare, exerciiu de arhitectură, proces didactic, tematică, sinteza proiectării, discurs critic Abstract: Often, students' projects in the architectural design studio are only brief reactions to the thematic of the year, when this directs by strict limitations the replies of academic exercises. The breach of thematic limits in this case may lead to fluidization of the solutions or in finding more nuanced resources, poetic or based on some architectural discourse. Experimentation of some more particular themes in formulation of the limits can both restricts the imagination as formula response and compels the analysis of nuances beyond the usual spatial layers-of reading of architectural context. Completing the required theme in years IV-V by the response of thematic may still be a solution in formulating of an integrated project, but also used as final target of the school of architecture: formulating of a complex project containing both theme and answer, and relying on a personal study of the author-student and based on the tutor as critic. The article aims to create a speech which contemporary architecture announces from the landscape of exercises in the years IV-V, and to conclude over some tendencies with plus and minus, over some thematic manners. The critical discourse sweeps from year projects, common as theme to all groups, to projects with architectural studio design theme that are fit in the teaching specific of Synthesis of Architectural Design Department, from the start project from fourth year to the last project from fifth year that announces the complexity of the diploma project. There are investigated a few types of topics, ways of approaches, of relation tutor-students and students-students, and the results of the teaching process related to proposed objectives.

Architecture design field is at least very complex to investigate as local or global implications... more Architecture design field is at least very complex to investigate as local or global implications. The article proposes a brief presentment of communicating architecture through relevant society exhibit: activities, actions, exercises and mission statements. These result from applications of the profession that are very diverse, from the practitioners to star-architects and brand makers, educators and mentors, activists and thinkers, researchers and innovators. Not at all unimportant are the applications of architects in art, literature, sociology, policies, photography and film, design or fashion. And also, the architects have many proveniences: from educated, university formed specialists, to newcomers in the field from other nonrelated domains, and also selfeducated, autodidacts. From programmatic actions, understanding reasons of participatory, to good practice and provocateur motion exercises, communicating architecture was a target, but also a debate of ideas in which critics and professionals have sharp pencils. From theories and mission statements point of view, the targets were various and successively explained, and some notions have been found in developing different installation exercises and justifying a way or another in defining communication and applicability beyond the main field, in a global elucidate trans-architecture.

Space is not unlimited but in theory of mathematics and also in web space generation. Dealing wit... more Space is not unlimited but in theory of mathematics and also in web space generation. Dealing with real space surfaces production has few possibilities in the architectural -urban environment; we have the sites to develop ground surfaces and mass generation above and below with a potential limited only by engineering expectations. But what type of space surfaces do we produce as architects and urban planners, or at least as architectural managers? How much do we need the ground space to unfold in order to develop and host human cultural activities for present and future? And how to unfold cultural surface of the city? Unfolding surface with spectacular summed results of high or mass development could be a local policy of acceptance or interdiction for cultural cities, sites, or areas. Densification is needed but also seems to be inadequate for a city with protected heritage or with valuable and cultural landscape. When innovating in cultural spaces, tradition is implicitly a surface. We cannot or should not delete tradition and still expect those spaces to be as delightful as they were in the beginning.
