How to filter results by hiring path

You can filter your job search results by hiring path to only show jobs you may be eligible for.

Not sure what jobs you can apply to? Learn wich jobs you're eligible to apply for.

  1. Scroll down to Hiring paths and select to show the options.
  2. Select one or more of the following hiring paths.

Open to the public—Choose this if you're a U.S. citizen or national.

Competitive service—Choose this if you can apply to competitive service positions. How do I know if I can apply to competitive service jobs?

Excepted service—Choose this if you're federal employee looking for excepted service positions. What is excepted service?

Internal to an agency—Choose this if you're a federal employee looking for jobs within your agency.

Career transition—Choose this if you're a surplus or displaced federal employee or eligible for reinstatement.

Land and base management—Choose this if you're current or former employee of a land or base management facility.

Veterans—Choose this if you're eligible for Veterans' Preference or separated from the Armed Forces under honorable conditions after three years or more of service.

Military spouses—Choose this if you're a military spouse.

National Guard and reserves—Choose this if you're a current National Guard or reserve members or if you plan to join the National Guard.

Students—Choose this if you're a current student looking for interships or jobs for students.

Recent graduates—Choose this if you graduated within the past two years, or six years, if a veteran.

Senior executives—Choose this if you're looking for jobs in the Senior Executive Service (SES) or other senior-executive-level jobs.

Individuals with disabilities—Choose this if you're eligible for Schedule A hiring.

Family of overseas employees—Choose this if you're the family of an overseas employee.

Native Americans—Choose this if you have a tribal affiliation.

Peace Corps and AmeriCorps VISTA—Choose this if you've served at least two years in the Peace Corps or one year with AmeriCorps.
