Fender has introduced another iteration of its Player series with the Player II Modified range.
The new collection is an expansion of its best-selling Player II series – which launched in 2024, and built upon the Player range it had previously released in 2018 – and sees select Player II models “souped up with performance-driven mods”, all right out of the box.
Introduced with the new range are fresh takes on the brand’s Telecaster, Stratocaster and Stratocaster HSS, as well as its Jazz Bass and P-Bass. The series brings features such as Noiseless pickups, a higher-output humbucker, push-pull switching, and a treble bleed circuit for greater tonal control. The models also offer a modern “C” neck, improved bridges, locking tuners, as well as satin urethane-finished necks, and on the HSS Strat, a Floyd Rose locking tremolo.
In celebration of the launch, Fender has partnered with British punk outfit IDLES for a live version of their song Gift Horse, taken from their critically acclaimed album TANGK – all while they show off some of the new models on offer. Take a look below:

“From the early days of players hot-rodding their Strat and Tele guitars to today’s musicians pushing sonic boundaries, Fender has always embraced the art of reinvention,” says Justin Norvell, EVP of Product, Fender.
“Leo Fender intentionally designed our instruments with modularity in mind – allowing them to evolve alongside the player and enabling more personalisation than any other brand. Player II Modified carries that spirit forward, offering modern upgrades like our new Player II Modified noiseless pickups and locking tuners for rock-solid stability. It’s about delivering the most in-demand mods straight from the factory while continuing to push the envelope of innovation and support artists in shaping the future of music.”
Last year, Fender revealed that since its inception in 2018, the Player Series has shown nearly 30 percent consecutive year-over-year growth globally and holds rank as Fender’s best-selling range of electric guitars of all time.
Prices for the new Modified Player II range start at $999. To find out more or shop the new range, head over to Fender.
