Changing font in Serial Monitor view

Describe the request

Allow the font used in the "Serial Monitor" view to be customized

Describe the current behavior

Although the font used in the editor font can be configured in the advanced settings, the same is not true for the font used in the "Serial Monitor" view.

🙁 Users are not able to configure Serial Monitor to meet their individual requirements and preferences.

I checked for previous feature requests and found none.

None of the theme or preferences.txt properties appear to apply to Serial Monitor font.

I assume that fulfills the requirements of my assignment to this issue so I'll unassign myself now. If something else is required on my part, please let me know.

Open the Arduino IDE.
Click on "File" in the top-left corner and select "Preferences."
In the "Preferences" window, you'll find a field labeled "Editor Font." Click on the "Change" button next to it.
This will open a font selection dialog where you can choose a new font, font size, and style (e.g., bold or italic). Select the font and settings you prefer and click "OK."

@oobed258 I'm not sure which version or variant of Arduino IDE you are using, but Arduino IDE 2.x does not have the preference as you claim:

It is possible to configure the font used in the Arduino IDE editor view via the editor.fontFamily advanced setting and the font used in the terminal via terminal.integrated.fontFamily. However, neither of those affect the font used by Serial Monitor.
