We're hiring Youth Advisors for our...

Youth Advisory Board

About FLIC

FLIC is an ambitious charity on a mission to share practical, life-changing money guidance with young people like you. We believe money is a language all young people should speak.

We know that all young people talk about and experience money differently. That means building a diverse group of young voices is crucial in shaping the financial literacy content and workshops we offer to schools, colleges and online communities.

Our next stage involves assembling a youth board and meeting people who want to use their lived experience, social media insights and audience understanding to help shape our work.

What content will you advise on?

To discover the three topics we’ve built so far, explore our Learning Hub: How to look after your money, Getting Paid and How to understand cryptocurrencies.
Our young advisors will guide and influence this content. Your thoughts will ensure our workshops, social media, videos, quizzes, tips and facts reach more young people through carefully considering changing formats, styles and tone of voice.

What’s in it for you?

  • An opportunity to gain teamwork experience and build money confidence, knowledge and understanding
  • Gain an understanding of how organisations work with social media content creators
  • Gain experience consulting our organisation by providing insights on the needs and interests of young people
  • Have a say in what content is created by FLIC
  • A reference after six months of participation
  • Payment is £80 for two hours—you must be available for a two-hour meeting. (Don’t worry: there will be a break!)

About you

FLIC is looking for young people aged 16-25 who have a passion for making money more accessible, from the cost of living savings tips to busting crypto myths. We’re rapidly building a diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds across England who feel comfortable talking about money, specifically about what young people need to know and how they should hear it.

Requirements

  • To be aged between 16 and 25
  • You can join in person (preferable) or online—you’ll need to be able to access the internet quarterly—for a total of four meetings in one year
  • There are four meetings a year. You must be available for our first meeting in October
  • To commit to the role for one year To prepare work in between meetings and contribute during meetings
