preparation protocol by changing the order of addition of the components,
which makes it possible to give from natural active ingredients an emulgel
of stability comparable to that of the method described in the literature.
Methods: Our emulgel was prepared from natural active ingredients,
namely: aloe vera, argan oil, thyme oil and grape seed oil. These active
ingredients have been added with excipients with different roles. First, four
formulas with different concentrations of carbopol®940, oils and aloe vera
gel were proposed, then the chosen formula was prepared according to two
different protocols. Secondly, a physicochemical and microbiological
evaluation was carried out on all of the formulas.
Results : Among the five formulas proposed, formulas F4 and F5,
containing 1% carbopol®940 with 10% oils and 18% aloe vera gel, met all
the physicochemical and microbiological criteria, such as: homogeneous
appearance with the naked eye and at microscopic examination, a pH close
to skin pH, a satisfactory viscosity, a minimal stability of three months and
good microbiological quality.
Conclusion: The results obtained prove the conformity and the stability of
the formulated emulgel as well as the reliability of the adopted protocol.
Among other things, they are opening up new avenues of research to study
its safety and the effectiveness of the targeted anti-aging effect.
