Green forest, forest at sunset, autumnal forest, snowy forest, forest at night... Which do you prefer? 👀💚 Forests always surprise us. Their atmosphere can change from one season to the next, or according to the time of day. Faced with climate change, forests are struggling to adapt quickly enough. 24% of UNESCO Green Citizens projects are focused on biodiversity, protecting flora and fauna. 🇧🇷 In Brazil, Formigas de Embaúba gives new generations the means to revive damaged ecosystems by planting indigenous mini-forests with public school pupils, with the aim of creating a new generation of forest restoration implementers. 🇪🇸 In Spain, the UNESCO Green Citizens project Green Belt of Alcalá de Henares, aims to plant more than 25,000 native and adapted plants before 2030 through a series of citizen initiatives. 🇹🇿 In Tanzania, where every drop of water is precious, the Pembamoto rainwater harvesting project set up a system of small dams. This simple, low-cost project combines ancestral knowledge with innovation, helping trees to survive in this arid environment. You too can be part of the change #ForNature! 🌳 Remember, stay green! 🌐 To find out more, go to the #UNESCOGreenCitizens website ✉️ Contact the project to support it on-site or remotely 👉https://lnkd.in/dGMbfV-K

In the subset of countries for which data are available, the loss of GDP due to low levels of socio-emotional skills by 2030 will reach US$7.4 trillion, corresponding to 19% of annual GDP. This underscores the critical importance of investing in socio-emotional skill development today. As professionals and leaders, we must drive initiatives that foster these essential skills. Together, we can secure a more prosperous and resilient future. More in "The price of inaction" report: https://lnkd.in/eD5KvkgY #RightToEducation

Engaging in sports fosters cooperation, encourages social interaction, and builds a stronger, more connected team. Whether you're a dedicated athlete or enjoy participating occasionally, it is so important to stay active. At UNESCO, we recognise that a vibrant work culture goes hand-in-hand with physical and mental well-being. To demonstrate our commitment, we recently organised a full day of sports activities, ranging from basketball to karate, right in the heart of Paris under the iconic Tour Eiffel. On Olympic Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the significance of sports in promoting a balanced and dynamic work environment! 🏀⚽️🎾 Anne Hermelin Lizet, Florence Calviac, Paul Férard, Fadhel Douiri, Nick Jeffreys, Rudi Swinnen, Lewis Tonks
