🚀 Exciting News: Our Bio-Streams partners unveiled groundbreaking findings on #ChildhoodObesity at The Nutrition Society Congress 2024! 🌟 Two pivotal studies were presented: 1️⃣ **Dietary Patterns and Risk of Childhood Obesity**: Highlighting how adherence to healthy dietary patterns (HDP) significantly reduces the risk of childhood overweight/obesity, while unhealthy dietary patterns (UDP) increase it. 2️⃣ **Meal Patterns and Childhood Obesity**: Revealing the importance of regular meal routines, such as breakfast and family dinners, in reducing obesity risk in children. These findings are crucial for developing effective dietary interventions and public health strategies to address #childhoodobesity and promote healthier lifestyles for children and adolescents. Earlier this week, Obelisk project co-coordinator Amélie Bonnefond from INSERM presented "1471-P: Impaired Delta Opioid Receptor Function Protects against Type 2 Diabetes and Results in Enhanced Insulin Secretion-A Functional Genetic Study" at the American Diabetes Association 84th Scientific Sessions in Orlando, Florida. Using data from the French RaDiO study, the research highlighted the delta opioid receptor as a major link between opioids and metabolic homeostasis in humans, which directly modulates insulin secretion.
