Create a custom dashboard for monitoring Freeable Memory for all RDS Postgres instance

Hi to all!

I am trying to create a custom dashboard to set an alert on the Freeable Memory metric on all RDS Postgres instances.

I tried to use the “metrics” datasource, and in particular the “rdsosmetrics_memory_free” metric, but I can’t understand what the displayed value refers to and how to set an alert, so that when the “Freeable Memory” drops to around 10% it sends a communication.
Has anyone had the need to manage this parameter of the instances?

Hi Ivan,

The metric can be found on Home Dashboard.
You may take a look at how it’s used in configuration of “Service Summary” table element.
