Webinar: How to Create a Successful Podcast

Q&A with award-winning Foreign Policy audio team

Podcasts have become one of the most effective communication tools for organizations and individuals seeking to tell their story, share their perspective, and drive real audience results. Podcast listeners are extremely engaged — about 80% listen to all or most of every podcast episode they start. And according to Spotify, 81% of podcast listeners have taken an action after hearing a compelling message from a podcast.

But the field has become increasingly crowded, with more than four million podcasts published, and only the top tier of podcasts garnering more than 500 downloads per episode. It’s not enough just to publish a podcast: You need a strategic approach to achieve meaningful impact.

On September 12, Foreign Policy’s award-winning podcast leadership team shared expert strategies to navigate the crowded podcast landscape and ensure that your podcast will reach your target audience and tell a captivating story. Over the past five years, they’ve created more than 20 shows, reached millions of listeners, and won over a dozen podcasting awards. Topics for shows range from geopolitics to international economics; high-stakes negotiating to spycraft; and gender equity to climate change and sustainability.

So, how do we do it? This is your chance to hear from us: the team’s managing director, Rob Sachs, and senior producer, Laura Rosbrow-Telem, in conversation with executive editor Dan Ephron. We’ll share tips and tricks, play tape, and take your questions.
