Also opening semi-wide in around 600 U.S. theaters is the Argentine horror thriller When Evil Lurks written and directed by Demián Rugna and starring Ezequiel Rodríguez, Demián Salomón, Silvina Sabater, Paula Rubinsztein, Virginia Garofalo and Luis Dziembrowski. The film’s original music is composed by Pablo Fuu (Crystal Eyes). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which follows two brothers as they try to prevent the spawning of evil incarnate, premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and is being distributed by IFC Films and will be available to stream on October 27 on Shudder.
Opening in select theaters today before expanding nationwide on October 20 is the musical comedy Dicks: The Musical directed by Larry Charles and starring Aaron Jackson, Josh Sharp, Megan Mullally, Nathan Lane, Josh Sharp, Megan Thee Stallion and Bowen Yang. Karl Saint Lucy & Marius de Vries (Coda, Strange Magic) have composed the film’s original score and also co-wrote the original songs with Jackson & Sharp.
