Latianara brothers back for Nadi
Written By : CHRISTOPHER CHAND. Twins Aseri and Tevita Latianara have been drafted into the Nadi side for their Digicel Cup showdown against Tavua at Vodafone Prince Charles Park tomorrow.
The pair have been impressive in the development squad and after last week’s disappointing form coach Iliesa Tanivula has opted to make changes to his starting lineup.
Fiji Warriors hooker Viliame Veikoso who was a revelation early this season will make his debut for the Jetsetters while prop Ravuama Samo makes the run on side for the first time this year.
Nadi rugby manager Pita Bolea said the inclusion of the three new players would strengthen their bid to win on their home soil.
Bolea said last week’s close call against Lautoka warranted changes in the side.
He said being the defending champions they had to find a winning combination before the quarterfinal stages.
“We didn’t play to our level of skills last week against Lautoka and a lot of questions marks were there,” Bolea said.
“The players need to realise that there will be chop and changes if they don’t perform.”
Nadi escaped with a 10-8 win over Lautoka at Churchill Park last Friday.
The defending champions face winless Tavua next and hope to lift their game to greater heights.
“We are experimenting with a couple of new players this season,” Bolea said.
Youngster Napolioni Dawai has come through the development process and has raised his hand for the senior side.
Dawai is another player who could force his way into the run on side.
Meanwhile table leaders Nadroga will travel to Namosi as they aim to stretch their lead at the top of the standings.
The Stallions are unbeaten in the competition and will be without their national reps tomorrow. Coach Jioji Rinakama was hoping to rope in Jonetani Ralulu and Rupeni Nasiga after they failed to get much game time for the Flying Fijians.
