US hurricane alert! #Helene just reached hurricane status and is expected to become a major hurricane in the next 24-36 hours, likely reaching category 3 strength before landfall. Helene is forecasted to make landfall late Thursday into early Friday, putting the Florida Panhandle and much of the western Florida coast at risk. Given the storm's faster forward speed, stronger winds may push farther inland with this event than others this year, though the damage will likely be more scattered and less severe due to the storm's weakening. ICEYE Poland was honored to welcome the European Space Agency - ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher to our Warsaw office earlier this week. During his visit to Poland, the Director General engaged with key players in the space sector. ICEYE CEO and Co-founder Rafal Modrzewski demonstrated our operations in Poland as the country's leading satellite manufacturer. The Director General was also briefed on ICEYE’s critical role in supporting flood response efforts in Poland and the region, and how the ICEYE analyst team maps the scale and extent of floods in the region, using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery from ICEYE satellites. ICEYE is working together with ESA under the Civil Security from Space Programme (CSS), which is set to revolutionize our collective approach to crisis events. The partnership leverages ICEYE's advanced Earth Observation capabilities to develop a new suite of disaster management solutions. "Our partnership with ESA under the Civil Security from Space (CSS) Programme helped prepare us for the recent flooding crisis across Europe. Under the CSS program, ICEYE has been able to further develop its Floods Insights products enabling us to provide rapid, accurate flood extent and depth mapping to affected areas. This near real-time data is crucial for emergency responders and decision-makers on the ground to effectively support the local communities.
