Cool game! I spent about two hours on it from start to finish. It's a bit like Yume Nikki meets The Matrix with graphics straight out of Minecraft - but the lofi pixelly quality fits the vibe nicely. I love the dream area with the rain. Perfectly eerie. Was actually expecting a jumpscare at some points, but thankfully there were none.
I think the plot is a bit scattershot, there's a lot of places and characters whose roles aren't exactly clear and the story feels somewhat random. (The cat's a good example. I mean, what is that thing's deal? Funny critter.) But that's life too, I guess. Oh, and the chase scene was really annoying especially because the game closes every time you fail, but thankfully I beat it after only six or so tries.
One thing that might've helped was making Amalgamia's true nature less obvious, since I called it just from reading the game's description. But I don't think it's meant to be a large plot twist, either. The way the game's set up it's more about seeing her discover herself and who she really is, even if it doesn't necessarily come as a surprise to the reader. It's like... I dunno, I keep making comparisons here. Serial Experiments Lain?
Also, I'd like to make special note of the document that criticizes utilitarianism by citing Mencius Moldbug, which is hilarious, really. I can't take Dark Enlightenment people seriously.
In the end I'm left with a lot of unanswered questions, which is par for the course when you have an eerie dream exploration game. Also, have I mentioned how much I love the soundtrack? It's great. The game would be so much less without it.
A really interesting game. The main character Amalgamia is very lovable, the narrative is great and there is always something to find in every corner. Definitely recommend.
Very atmospheric, the music fits very well. The faces of the characters are very simple but very cute. The story is intriguing, I want to know how it would continue.
Only downside is the FPS controls but there's not much that can be done about that. When a new location loads, the character is facing a wall which is a little disorienting.

Thank you so much for your thoughts! And I am glad you found that hilarious
cool game! i liked it!
This game is worth playing for the soundtrack alone.
(Edit: My favourite track is probably 'Ego Ignition'.)
But it's also an intriguing game with lots of thought and creativity put into it. And it's free, so what more could you ask for?
amazing game 10/10! I am Smeargaleo btw!

Interesting concepts. The dream mechanic is always interesting, and I can tell it's something you connect with strongly.
I especially like the parts about ladies being proper ladies... :)
Every time you wake up, something happens, that's a nice mechanic (especially when items appear!) but I feel the game in general was easy to get lost.
I would have liked to see more guidance on where the player should be going -or- guidance what you're supposed to be looking for/doing.
Big update now, a lot has changed since the demo, maybe give it another try โฅ

Big update now, all that has been fixed, and the story is finished! Maybe give it another try! โฅ
