LinkedHashMap

Get size of LinkedHashMap example

With this example we are going to demonstrate how to get the size of a LinkedHashMap, that is the number of key-value mappings in this LinkedHashMap. In short, to get the size of a LinkedHashMap you should:

  • Create a new LinkedHashMap.
  • Populate the linkedHashMap with elements, with put(K key, V value) API method of LinkedHashMap.
  • Invoke size() API method of LinkedHashMap. It returns the int number of key-value pairs that the linkedHashMap contains.

Let’s take a look at the code snippet that follows:

import java.util.LinkedHashMap;

public class SizeLinkedHashMap {

  public static void main(String[] args) {

    // Create a LinkedHashMap and populate it with elements
    LinkedHashMap linkedHashMap = new LinkedHashMap();
    linkedHashMap.put("key_1","value_1");
    linkedHashMap.put("key_2","value_2");
    linkedHashMap.put("key_3","value_3");

    // int size() operation returns the number of key value pairs stored in LinkedHashMap
    System.out.println("Size of LinkedHashMap : " + linkedHashMap.size());

  }
}

Output:

Size of LinkedHashMap : 3

This was an example of how to get the size of a LinkedHashMap in Java.
