What to Watch this week: Law & Order: SVU and a delayed Emmys make their return

Lots of TV shows make their big return following the writers' and actors' strikes, including the Law & Order franchise — and the 25th season premiere of SVU — as well as the One Chicago franchise. The new series The Woman in the Wall and Death and Other Details also make their debuts.

Plus, the best of television are honored at the 75th Emmys, delayed from September 2023 due to the dual Hollywood strikes.

In theaters, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor stars as author Isabel Wilkerson in Ava DuVernay's Origin, Ariana DeBose stars in the space-set thriller I.S.S., and murders rock a small town right before an election in the politically-themed horror film Founders Day.
