Reba McEntire hands her fellow Voice coaches tissues after emotional final Knockout

The tears were flowing during Team Niall's final Knockout.

The tears were flowing on the final night of The Voice season 24 Knockouts. If only we all had Mama Reba to hand us tissues when we need them!

The final Knockout of the night — and the season — matched up Team Niall's Alexa Wildish, Lennon Vanderdoes, and 13-year-old Julia Roome. Even in rehearsals with Niall Horan fill-ins Dan and Shay and the season's Mega-Mentor Wynonna Judd, people were getting misty-eyed over this trio of songs. For the rehearsal squad, it was Alexa Wildish's gorgeous, slowed-down acoustic take on Cher's "Believe" that did it. All three superstars were wiping away tears as Alexa got emotional (she, too, had tears streaming down her face). The girl can connect to a lyric all right.

During the performances, Alexa's "Believe" is just as emotional and impressive. John Legend calls it "flawless" and Gwen Stefani tells her that "nobody does what [she] just did anymore." Everyone is moved. Julia Roome is no slouch in the emotion department either. The just-barely-a-teen commands the stage with an inspiring cover of Sia's "Unstoppable." Afterward, John tells her that he is "stunned" and that a performance like she just gave could win the entire show. But it's not until Lennon Vanderdoes and his guitar step up to the mic that everyone is reduced to puddles. He's got a unique tone so his cover of Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up" would always stand apart from the original, but there's something in the way Lennon completely commits and is so in the moment that really makes the performance shine. By the end, both Gwen and John are wiping away tears. During his critique, John continues to get choked up, barely able to get out just why he's so emotional. He saw Lennon as the underdog in the matchup and found it so moving to watch him "being fully [him]self." There was so much passion and abandon and Mr. Legend, who says he cries much more since becoming a dad, felt it all.

Thankfully, Reba McEntire comes prepared and hands out tissues to all of her fellow coaches. In the end, it's Niall who really needs them, though, because with no saves or steals left, he's left with an impossible choice and the knowledge that he's sending two of these performers home. This has been his "favorite moment on The Voice," watching his artists make such a huge impression — but it must quickly become his least favorite, right? Niall decides he wants Alexa Wildish to move forward to the playoffs and while Lennon really packed a punch, Alexa has sailed through the competition thus far and is a real creative force. It feels like the right choice.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
