EW's editorial guidelines Published on November 4, 2020 05:33PM EST The Masked Dancer is going to be one big zoo! Fox's upcoming reality competition series has dropped its first teaser, introducing viewers to competitors from the animal kingdom including Cricket, Exotic Bird, Sloth, and Zebra, while Tulip and Cotton Candy round out the roster. The clip also previews the panelists' guesses, and while sister show The Masked Singer has taught us that the celeb sleuths aren't always right, could Fergie, Lionel Richie, or Britney Spears really be on The Masked Dancer? Fox announced last month that Craig Robinson will host the competition, while TMS panelist Ken Jeong will serve as panelist alongside Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, and Ashley Tisdale. The show is a twist on the network's ever-popular The Masked Singer, and an expansion of "The Masked Dancer" segment featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. On the new show, celebrity contestants will be dressed head-to-toe in elaborate costumes, performing dancing routines with equally disguised partners and backup dancers. We already know that altogether, the celebrity competitors have amassed more than 38 million albums sold worldwide, 20 Emmy Award wins, 20 Grammy Award nominations, 10 World Dancing titles, five New York Times best-selling titles, four Olympic gold medals, and three Broadway show appearances. The Masked Dancer will premiere in December. Related content: Fox taps Craig Robinson to host The Masked Dancer Now Fox is doing The Masked Singer for dancers (thanks, Ellen DeGeneres!)
