The Challenge star Wes Bergmann and Amanda Hornick welcome first child

"All my girls are healthy and I'm beaming," the three-time The Challenge winner wrote after the birth of his daughter.

Wes Bergmann has taken on a new challenge: fatherhood.

The longtime The Challenge competitor and his wife Amanda Hornick celebrated the birth of their daughter Lucy Jean on Instagram on Friday. "All my girls are healthy and I'm beaming," he wrote in the caption.

He also outlined some basic stats about his new daughter, revealing that she was born Thursday at 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and is in the 50th percentile for height.

Bergmann, who got his reality TV start on The Real World: Austin, won three seasons of The Challenge: The Duel, Rivals II, and All Stars 3. He also was a finalist in five more seasons, and competed on numerous other iterations of the show. Most recently, he was eliminated from The Challenge: USA 2, after which he announced his intention to permanently retire from the show.

Bergmann told EW that while he still has love for the show, his time with The Challenge had to come to an end for logistical reasons. "It's strictly a scheduling and work-related thing with my real job, which I happen to find more fulfilling and more lucrative," he explained. "I have this great problem where I have two jobs that are both very fulfilling and very fun. It's just one is more responsible, higher paying, and safer. I don't have to wrestle anybody falling out of a helicopter or anything. I wish I could do both."

However, Bergmann would have liked to go out on a higher note than his untimely elimination. "It's particularly sad because the likelihood that this is my last one is very high and obviously you'd love to go out on a W, but the game is so hard to begin with for normal people, and then there are others where the game is stacked up against us to make it harder for us," Bergmann told EW. "It went through my head for two seconds to retire after [winning] All Stars [3], and it didn't feel like an option. I had a little bit more time left in me and so I kept going."
