The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion eliminated player calls out 'stupid' alliance

"Those U.K. guys and girls were so stupid," [SPOILER] tells EW. "When you already have limited numbers against a strong American alliance, you do not take a man out."

Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Challenge: Battle for a New Champion episode 4, "I'm Coming Out."

Hughie Maughan has some spicy parting words for his fellow contestants after getting eliminated on The Challenge: Battle for a New Champion.

"To come back for a second season was an honor, but all pleasantries and niceness aside, I was pissed off to get voted in!" Hughie tells EW. "I definitely think I'm an asset to the show — I speak up and I do what I need to do to make good TV — so it's going to be boring without Hughie. I wish I was surrounded by some more people this season that also wanted to make good TV. What are people going to be doing for the next 16 episodes?"

The Big Brother U.K. and Dancing With the Stars Ireland alum only lasted four episodes this season, but was grateful to be surrounded by some attractive cast members. "The guys are really hot. I want to be in a sandwich of Jay and Emmanuel," he says. "I just want to be in the middle of them sexy boys. I'm begging MTV, please, for the love of God, will you cast a few gay guys or bisexual guys? For the love of Jesus, will you give me some d--- in the house? I'm team penis!"

Below, Hughie breaks down why he thinks his alliance members were "stupid" to vote him in, why he chose Kyland Young as his elimination opponent, and more.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How are you feeling about your exit?

HUGHIE MAUGHAN: I'm really proud of myself, knowing what a great competitor Kyland is. I did not know that at the time because I didn't watch his Big Brother or Challenge: USA season, I never saw him do an elimination or even a challenge because ours were grouped this season, so I didn't know what his strengths were. The fact that I was right on his ass the entire time, I feel so proud. In the episode, they edit it to make it really dramatic with the music and make it look like I'm really pausing a lot when actually I was really quick. It's funny when I fell over the box, I cut up my leg and it took like a month to heal. I was a clumsy motherf---er.

You seemed to be really well connected on a social level so what happened? Why did you become the main vote?

Exactly. The internationals really should have stuck together but the Americans just played a better political game. These guys are social warriors. I definitely was well connected, I was very loyal. It was very stupid for a lot of these people to say my name because I never would have said their name. It was a shock that my name came up but all these guys continually look for a scapegoat.

Who do you think started the campaign to get you voted in?

I don't really know and I don't think I'll ever know. It's very easy to follow suit. People like Colleen will just vote the popular way all the time. But obviously, it was the guys. I do know that Nurys and Olivia did try to keep my name out and turn it on James, but that didn't end up working.

Why did James call out your name at the start of the deliberation? Do you think that had anything to do with people voting for you?

I don't know. And I've stayed in touch with Lock-y since, and I like him. But why even mention my name? I was a number [for him]. Those U.K. guys and girls were so stupid. When you already have limited numbers against a strong American alliance, you do not take a man out. It doesn't make a dog's bit of sense to me at all. If you're such great competitors, why not keep around who you think you can beat? Me and Big T were nothing but scapegoats for people. Colleen, Callum, Jay, a lot of those people weren't smashing these challenges.

What was it like competing against Kyland in that elimination?

It was actually a fun elimination to be in. It felt like a fun day out, even with the pressure. Losing it wasn't the end of the world for me.

If you could go back and redo it, what would you change about how you played that elimination?

Kyland was a great competitor. I probably would've chose somebody with less elimination experience, like Asaf or Callum. But if you were there on the night and you could see the whole [elimination] unedited, you would realize I was also being fast and I was trying to stay focused on one thing at a time, because on my first season, I had a scattered brain and I was arguing with people during elimination. This elimination, I was trying to stay focused and not be looking at the audience and who they're shouting for and taking everyone's advice. I don't beat myself up so much about if there was some things I could have done differently. I was trying my best.

What didn't we see on TV that happened this season?

You didn't see Zara slagging me off and saying that I shouldn't be on The Challenge because I'm not a sports person. They didn't air that. And apparently, there was a few hookups in the house. It happened after I left, but there was a few people who actually had sex in the house, and they're not probably going to air any of that.

Now you have to say their names!

If I had the names, trust me, I'd be saying them, because I don't really get along with a lot of the people, but I heard there was a few hookups. And then there was a few moments when I got snappy with Kyland, because I feel like Kyland didn't like me at all in the house. This was one of my reasons for choosing him, I felt like he didn't even like me. When I would ask him a question, he looked like he wanted to shoot me. But I did learn afterwards he's got autism and ADHD, and sometimes those people can be like that socially without people understanding. We're going to do an Instagram Live tomorrow and have a conversation together. I've got ADHD, and I used to work with kids in residential care in the U.K. and a lot of them had behavioral disorders or trauma-based problems from their childhoods, so I'm surprised I never really spotted this within Kyland. But as I said, I didn't spend a lot of time with him. He's a great guy.
