Donald Glover and Maya Erskine's mission as married assassins in Mr. & Mrs. Smith has been delayed.

Prime Video announced Thursday that the upcoming TV show reimagining of the 2005 movie, originally slated to premiere in November, will now debut in "early 2024." The streaming service also released the official — and bloody! — first-look photo of Glover and Erskine as the titular killer couple (check it out below).

Co-created and executive produced by Glover (Atlanta) and Francesca Sloane (Atlanta, Fargo), Mr. & Mrs. Smith stars Glover as John Smith and Pen15 co-creator/star Erskine as Jane Smith. While the premise of the series is based on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's 2005 film of the same name, there are actually quite a few key differences in the new story.

While the movie centered on two married assassins who are hired to kill each other after they discover they're spies for rival agencies, in the upcoming Prime Video series, John and Jane are two strangers who give up their identities to be thrown together as partners in espionage and marriage. According to the show's official logline, they've been matched by a mysterious agency, and each episode follows them on a new mission and new milestone in their relationship. When the cracks begin to show through, they must fight to stay together. Because in this marriage, divorce is not an option.

Last year, Erskine took over her starring role from Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was originally cast to play the female lead but exited the project due to creative differences. "I still like her. I assume she still likes me," Glover previously said of Waller-Bridge, adding, "[Erskine]'s dope. It's exciting. I really love the show."
