Here's why The Golden Bachelor and other shows are delayed tonight

A national address from President Biden will run ahead of primetime TV broadcasts.

Fans waiting to find out who Gerry sends home on The Golden Bachelor will have to hold their breath a little longer due to an important message.

President Joe Biden is set to make a national address on Thursday night discussing United States foreign policy. The president's message from the Oval Office comes after his visit to Israel Wednesday in response to heightened tension and violence against civilians in the region. "Tomorrow, President Biden will address the nation to discuss our response to Hamas' terrorist attacks against Israel and Russia's ongoing brutal war against Ukraine," Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

Biden's address is slated to last 22 minutes from 8:00 to 8:22 p.m. ET, and The Golden Bachelor will follow, starting its hourlong episode at 8:22 p.m. ET . Bachelor in Paradise will come next at 9:24 p.m. ET, followed by a half-hour block of local programming at 11:22 p.m. Jimmy Kimmel Live will pick up at 11:57 p.m., and Nightline will air starting at 1:28 a.m. ET.

ABC isn't the only network affected. All cable news and broadcast networks are scheduled to air the president's address. As such, lineups from CBS (including Big Brother), NBC (including The Tonight Show), and Fox (Hell's Kitchen) are expected to shift by 22 minutes as well.

Biden previously addressed the public from the Oval Office on June 2 concerning the passage of a new debt ceiling.

Nine contestants currently remain on The Golden Bachelor, with three episodes left to win the heart of 72-year-old restaurateur Gerry Turner.
