Before Netflix unveils a new series about a female wrestling television show in 1980s Los Angeles on June 23, the streaming giant is gifting EW readers an exclusive batch of first-look images. Based on the ‘80s show of the same name, GLOW is a 10-episode series from Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, with Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan on board as an executive producer. Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men) stars as Ruth Wilder, an out-of-work actress looking for a second chance at fame. Among the stills, we also see Marc Maron as ring leader Sam Sylia, a washed-up B-movie director leading this athletic troupe, which includes Kia Stevens as Tamee, Ellen Wong as Jenny, Kate Nash as Rhonda, and Sydelle Noel as Cherry Bang. Betty Gilpin also stars as Debbie Eagan, a former soap opera star who left the industry to have a baby but comes back to work when domestic life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
