This week in the Arrowverse, Red Daughter turned the entire world against Kara with one hot spin around a room on Supergirl, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow made its long-awaited return with a Mexican wrestling-themed outing, because of course it did. Check out the highlights and Superhero Insider’s interview with Legends writer Morgan Faust below. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Dean Buscher/The CW The Legends are finally back, but jury’s out on whether they’re better than ever. Their mission — to retrieve the escaped kaupe — goes sideways fast: Mona insists she didn’t release Konane, which puts Sara at odds with Ava, and Zari’s digging leads her straight to Nate and his daddy issues, as well as a glitzy benefit where sparks fly (sort of) between the two. It’s messy, but it’s classic Legends. Pairing team members up and seeing how they operate is the show’s bread and butter; just listen to writer Morgan Faust, who joined this week’s Superhero Insider, as she dives into what makes TV’s most underrated comic-book show tick, especially now that it’s no longer just a time-travel series, but a mythical, magical one as well. (Fantastic Beasts wishes it had the gall to do what Legends does…) —Shirley Li preview of the rest of the season with showrunner Phil Klemmer, and see what stars Caity Lotz and Tala Ashe have to say about on the show’s upcoming Bollywood musical number Supergirl Bettina Strauss/The CW Supergirl‘s hot streak continued with “All About Eve,” which saw Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Alex (Chyler Leigh), and Lena (Katie McGrath) join forces to find the treacherous Eve Teschmacher (Andrea Brooks). Even though this was very much a table-setting episode, their team-up was rather satisfying because it firmly placed Lena on the side of good (the show tends to waffle with Lena) and the script didn’t try to drum up needless conflict between Supergirl and Lena over the Harun-El. Of course, though, the episode’s crowning achievement was Red Daughter’s assault on the White House. Director Ben Bray took an already horrific scenario and made it even more intense by shooting it from James’ trauma-ridden perspective. —Chancellor Agard the recap, and find out why Katie McGrath never wants Lena to find out Kara is Supergirl Listen to Superhero Insider Click below to listen to this week’s Superhero Insider, which airs every Friday at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on SiriusXM’s Ch. 105, hosted by Kyle Anderson, Chancellor Agard, and Shirley Li.
