EW's editorial guidelines Published on February 3, 2019 06:49PM EST It’s time to return to Gilead. Hulu unveiled a new teaser during the Super Bowl for the third season of The Handmaid’s Tale, which they’d previously, well, teased earlier in the week. In that footage, Offred (Elisabeth Moss), a.k.a. June, is seen peeking over her shoulder, now dressed in the pale blue garb of the servants known as “Marthas,” who had helped June escape in the season 2 finale. It’s clear she’s joined their network, but how will she stay hidden? After all, June is basically Gilead’s most wanted. She had come close to fleeing once and for all at the end of last season, abandoning the Waterfords with her newborn baby in tow — Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) even lets her go — only to change her mind at the last minute. She handed her child to Emily (Alexis Bledel), saw them off, then marched back Under His Eye because her work in Gilead isn’t over: June still needs to retrieve her daughter Hannah (Jordana Blake), and perhaps she’ll be able to do that and more from the inside. It won’t be easy, and from the look of the trailer, June’s world will be more dangerous than ever. The Handmaid’s Tale returns later this year on Hulu.
